La Tour

2021 / 40m²

The apartment, which opens onto a flowered courtyard, forms a perfect rectangle, with an entrance serving as a kitchen and a living room, followed by a bedroom and its bathroom. If there was nothing to review in the floor plan, the setting would have been old-fashioned and lacking fantasy. The architect opened the kitchen to the living with a classic glass roof. The space occupied by the dining room is well managed, due to a bench less bulky than a row of chairs. In the bedroom, custom-made cupboards frame the bed. The layout of the kitchen favors low furniture to provide a nice view of the shelves through the glass roof. In terms of the color scheme, a game of contrasts punctuates the apartment. The entrance is deliberately treated in an elegant and theatrical dark blue, to better emphasize the luminosity of the other rooms. In the living room, the bedroom, and the bathrooms, feature a black edging underlining the colored bases. The process makes it possible to introduce converging lines offering an impression of lightness throughout the apartment. The final touch, the headboard is topped with a floral wallpaper. In a few well-coordinated gestures, this apartment has found warmth and personality. Photos © Agathe Tissier.
